Digging up your Dahlias

This is where we separate the true Dahlia lovers form those who just like to look at them. In the Fall after the first frost it will be time to dig the Dahlias. For those of you who only have a few plants this is not a big deal. I myself had 165 plants in 2007 so it took me a little longer to dig and pack away my tubers. After digging and washing the dirt off of my tubers I set them out to day real well before I start cutting and packing them away.  Most growers use a sharp knife to separate the tubers. I use a band saw. I also use a sharp knife and a drywall saw when needed. For more info and pictures on cutting tubers try this web site http://www.dahlias.net/dahwebpg/TuberStor/TuberStor3.htm
